School Day (8.45am-3.05pm - 31 hours and 40 minutes per week). We have consulted to increase this to 32.5 hours.
The safety and wellbeing of our pupils is a high priority at Castle Primary School and access while children are on site is strictly managed. We operate a 24 hour CCTV security system and all visitors are required to sign in and out.
At drop off and pick up times, there is pedestrian access from both Dunster and Newlands Roads. We have listed a general guide below and, if you have any questions, do please ask the Office.
7.30 to 8.00 am - Parents dropping children off at Progresive Kids (Breakfast Club) may drive onto site using the Newlands Road vehicle gate.
8.00 am - Office opens
8.35 am - School opens: the gates open on Dunster and Newlands Roads and children make their way to their classroom.
8.45 am - Regististation. Children arriving late (after 8.45am) must be signed in at the Office so that we know they are safely with us.
8.55 am to 2.55 pm - No access to the site from Dunster Road. Please use the Newlands Road main pedestrian gate.
3.00 pm - Pedestrian gates open at Dunster and Newlands Roads and the school day ends for our Year 5/6 children.
3.05 pm - School Day ends for children in Years R to 4.
3.15 pm - No access to the site from Dunster Road. Please use the Newlands Road main pedestrian gate.
4.00pm Office closes
4.30 to 6.00 pm - Parents collecting children from Progressive Kids may drive onto site using the Newlands Road vehicle gate.
