Work Experience or Student Placements

We do not accept applications for placements from parents/carers, close family members or former students.  Over the years, we have found that having a placement in a familiar location/setting can limit potential and that working somewhere 'new' widens the depth and breadth of students' experiences.

Due to staff development and other priorities, we regret that we are not always able to offer work experience or student placements at certain times.  Please contact the Business Manager for more details.

Clerk to Governors

Required from 1 May 2018, the Governing Body is seeking to appoint a Clerk to fulfil this essential role supporting the governors.  The Clerk will attend all meetings (including those of committees) and be responsible for agendas, minutes and the associated administration, and must be confident in the use of IT.  Some flexibility is required as, although meetings are usually held in the evening, additional duties may occasionally occur during the day.  This post is also advertised on  The closing time/date is 12 noon on Friday 27 April.


Casual SMSAs

We are often looking for people who can help when we are short staffed, eg due to illness.  If you are interested in working with us in this way, do please contact the Business Manager.


Required as soon as possible, a Teaching Assistant with the aptitude and ability to support a child who has a diagnosis of ASD.  Initially working two mornings a week (currently Tuesdays and Thursdays), this is anticipated to rise up to a maximum of 15 hours a week.  This is a temporary position relating to Inclusion Funding and will continue for the duration of that funding and/or the child's departure from Castle if earlier.
