Mr Jones and Mr Hancock had a fantastic time in France with our kind hosts from Ecole Elementaire de la Fontaine. It was great to meet them for the first time as well as our colleagues from Istituto Comprensivo Pietro Mascagni in Italy.

The trip was a great chance for us to put our heads together and come up with a plan on how we hope to move the project forward over the next two years. Children at Castle have already started to complete the first questionnaires and some of the results have been fascinating. The project looks like it will be a fantastic opportunity for the children to learn more about other European countries from some real experts! 

We are very much looking forward to welcoming our colleagues from France and Italy in January where we hope to give them an insight into what it is like to learn in a British school.

January 2011

It was wonderful welcoming our Comenius Partners to our school in January. During their stay our friends were given the opportunity to spend time with our whole school community, our children, teachers, Governors and parents.

They had a very busy week spending time with each class where they taught the children how to say some words in their language. The children also had the opportunity to ask questions about France and Italy.

On the last day the children thanked our friends for coming and also told them what they had learnt during the week. Also in the assembly the children were treated to a French song sang by the French teachers.
